Athelstan Accounting | Growing Your Business

Athelstan Accounting provides a professional personalised accountancy service to a wide variety of small businesses within the Sheffield and Bassetlaw area including Sole traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies.

We focus on providing our clients with accounting support tailored to their business. This may include, full bookkeeping, VAT preparation and Annual accounts to payroll support or basic business and tax advice.

We are based in Worksop, but also visit businesses on a regular basis to carry out bookkeeping and VAT tasks.

We offer an initial consultation at our office or if more convenient we can meet at your business. We make no charge for this consultation but will be able to discuss your business requirements and address any immediate concerns you may have. We also discuss and agree our fees in advance so you can plan ahead.

Full Bookkeeping Service

Our core task at Athelstan Accounting is to support businesses by providing a full bookkeeping service which includes monthly transaction recording, bank consolidation and VAT preparation.

VAT Returns

VAT legislation can be very complicated and mistakes are often made resulting in overpaid or underpaid VAT. HMRC are increasing the frequency of VAT enquiries and the potential for fines and penalties is very prevalent.

Full Payroll/CIS and Auto enrolment

We offer a full payroll and pension contribution service tailored to your business. We operate:

  • Single or multiple payrolls
  • CIS payroll
  • Pension contributions (NEST)

Annual Accounts

Annual accounts are essential in order to satisfy the requirements of HMRC. They also provide you with an overall picture of how your business is performing. We compare your business year by year and identify areas of improvement and help plan future development of your business.

Self Assessment Tax Returns

All self employed individuals and people with several income stream need to complete a Self assessment Tax return (SATR) each year by the 31 January. We provide a full service by assessing your taxable income and submitting your tax return.
